Fire Engineer

Our client is looking for three experienced Fire Engineers to join their Building Safety Regulator team on a 6-month contract. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to vital work around the safety of higher-risk buildings across England.

The successful candidates will play a key role providing specialist fire safety advice, and supporting regulatory compliance in the building control process. This is a remote role with minimal travel required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in fire safety design and assessment for complex/HRBs, including use of:
  • Approved Document B
  • BS9999, BS7974 or equivalent fire engineering codes
  • Experience with building control processes and regulations related to HRBs and complex developments.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Building Act 1984
    • Building Regulations 2010 (as amended)
    • Associated standards and enforcement protocols
  • Experience conducting inspections, reviewing plans, and implementing inspection schedules.
  • Strong understanding of safety and risk assessment within the built environment.
  • Qualifications & Memberships

    • Minimum Level 6 qualification (e.g., degree) in Building Studies, Civil Engineering, Construction, Surveying, or equivalent.
    • Professional Membership: Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent professional recognition in fire safety engineering.
