Vital Healthcare Services Limited is a supported living provider for people with mental health needs and learning disabilities. We support a wide variety of clients. Our service mainly focuses on providing tenancy-based community support and intensive support for adults who have required low-medium secure care for long periods and display challenging behaviours. Intensive support is provided through high-standard care and placements that have been carefully chosen close to public transport, shops, and other services to ensure greater integration into the community.
We are looking for a Deputy Care Manager to support our current Service Manager in maintaining our Supported Living Sites across Milton Keynes and London (and other areas too). We are looking for someone with experience in dealing with behaviours that challenge and complex care. If successful, you will be responsible for deputising for the manager and being the responsible manager in their absence carrying out all the duties that their position entails.
The role requires effective communication, liaising with staff, service users, families, and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. You will be participating in the delivery of the service which takes into account all of the day-to-day operational requirements, and also quality measurements and monitoring. You will be responsible for ensuring all CQC KLOEs are being met to a GOOD or OUTSTANDING rating. Continuously analyse the operations of the service, evaluate them, and where improvements are required take necessary actions to implement change through negotiation and mutual agreement.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with people who have Learning Disability/Mental Health and/or Physical Disabilities.
- At least 3-5 years of senior/managerial experience in the sector.
- Relevant professional qualification (NVQ Level 4 or equivalent essential, Level 5 desirable).
- Experience in managing budgets and budget control.
- An understanding of and commitment to providing Equal Opportunities.
- Knowledge and first-hand experience of current Health & Social Care legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
- Demonstrable evidence of supporting people in a person-centred way.
- A high level of literacy, numeracy, and administrative skills together with well-developed verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, both internally and externally.
- Good understanding of the CQC Compliance standards and the desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
