The Opportunity

We’re excited to announce that we are looking for a Training & Skills Coordinator to join our dynamic People team at our Head Office, Blackburn. In this role you will support the organisation in developing workforce capability and identifying role‑specific training requirements across the business. This role ensures all employees have access to the right skills development opportunities, and that compliance records are accurate, up to date, and audit‑ready. Working closely with the People Team, you will support the creation, coordination, and delivery of training programmes, particularly e‑learning to meet mandatory and desirable workforce development and compliance requirements. The Role

  • Take responsibility for the booking, delivery and scheduling of internal and external training sessions. Liaising directly with employees, management and providers.
  • Provide guidance to managers on training requirements and completion status.
  • Support new starters with onboarding and compliance induction processes.
  • Use the training database to monitor upcoming course expiry.
  • Coordinate skills development programmes, workshops, and learning activities across the organisation.
  • Track attendance, completions, and outcomes to ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Assist in identifying skills gaps using data, feedback, and manager input.
  • Maintain training calendars, communications, and resources.
  • Develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house).
  • Maintain full oversight of all statutory, regulatory, and role‑specific training requirements, ensuring the organisation meets legal obligations (e.g., safeguarding, data protection, health & safety, fire safety, sector‑specific compliance) ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Monitor training completion through the LMS or compliance tracking tools.
  • Ensure timely escalation of compliance risks by notifying managers of overdue training and highlighting potential breaches or gaps that may impact accreditation, regulatory inspections, or insurance requirements.
  • Support audit preparation with accurate, accessible, and fully documented compliance record.
  • Maintain learning platforms, ensuring content, user records, and reporting are accurate.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and training providers, managing bookings and associated paperwork.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Successful portfolio within a Training Coordinator role.
  • Experience in compliance-heavy or regulated environments - specifically construction.
  • Strong digital and data skills, including Excel.
  • Experience using or maintaining a learning management system (or equivalent platform).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills (Internally/Externally).

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) Grade C and above.
  • CIPD Level 3 or above (desirable) ideally in L&D related subject.
  • NVQ or similar in HR/ training or related background (preferably in training delivery).
