Operations Shift Team Leader
We are a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sector. We support Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings.
The Opportunity:
We are recruiting for the position of Shift Team Leader for the new build Energy from Waste facility located on the former Drakelow C coal fired power station near Burton on Trent. The facility generates electricity using gasification technology with Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) as the primary fuel.
Job Responsibility:
You will lead the function of Permit office and provide leadership and instruction to the operations department in the company\βs Safe System of Work. You will be required to be authorised and enact the role of Senior Authorised Person under the Vital Energi Generation Safety Rules.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Shift Plant Operators, Operations & Maintenance Assistants and Maintenance teams on site.
- Develop effective O&M procedures, operating instructions, and RAMS for the facility.
- Implement the Safe System of Work, specifically enacting the role of Senior Authorised Person under the company Safety Rules.
- Conduct and drive daily process meetings and team briefs, and coach and mentor new and existing staff.
- Work with the Maintenance Department to coordinate, implement, and carry out maintenance activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across the site.
- Take a lead role in identifying and taking pro-active measures to develop improvements to plant performance, availability, and reliability.
Requirements:
- Background in engineering or process operations.
- NVQ /ONC or equivalent within a relevant Engineering or Operations discipline.
- Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person for creating and issuing Safety Documents / Permits to work.
- Safety qualification, preferably IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
