Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s Strategy of Growth? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team as Pre-Construction Manager. This role will manage incoming tenders through the internal estimating department so that all requested quotations are returned with a high level of information and in a satisfactory time scale. The person will then look to monitor both incoming and submitted tenders with a view to progressing these through from unsecured through to secured. All documentation required to be compliant for tender submission is the responsibility of this person to source and collate prior to managing all submittals.

The Role:
- Review design against contractor proposals
- Manage and monitor design development through the pre-commencement period
- Work with the Planner to establish the most effective and efficient programme of delivery to provide both design, construction, procurement and target programmes
- Interrogate and integrate supply chain enquiries to establish base costs
- Review building methods and interaction with operational staff in the development of final bid costs
- Distribute design and construction information, specifications to supply chain and client as required
- Liaise closely with designers and Clients to maintain a positive working relationship
- Lead on potential value engineering and design change that positively impact on deliverables
- Ensure that full project design information is available for hand over to construction team prior to works commencing on site
- Apply appropriate checks, balances and procedures with appointed or incumbent design teams to ensure timely information releases and requests are achieved
- Provide cost reports with estimates and comparisons for the purpose of allowing operations and Directors to settle on final cost proposals for agreement with the Client to meet financial close
- Obtain, where necessary, samples and technical data to support any design changes and value engineering proposals
- Control all incoming drawings and specifications in respect of design information
- Ensure the Estimating team and operational QS’s liaise closely in respect of supply chain interaction, tendering and procurement
- Manage and discharge requests for Information
- Maintain positive dialogue/ negotiations with supply chain
- Liaise with Clients’ professional team and advisers and end users throughout the pre-commencement period to ensure that expectation levels are managed
- Assist Business Development staff with preparing bid proposals at Tender and Pre-commencement stage
- Prepare reports for departmental meetings and reviews
The Person:
- Education: Building services experience and training for mechanical and electrical systems
- HND qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering subject essential
- Minimum 7 years relevant industry experience
