Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s Strategy of Growth? If so, we’re looking for a talented Lead Integration Developer to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Blackburn with support to sites.
Due to Vital Energi's continued growth, we are looking for a Lead Integration Developer to lead the design, development and delivery of enterprise integration solutions that enable secure, scalable and reliable connectivity across business applications, data platforms and external systems. Define integration architecture, standards and governance practices that support operational efficiency, data-driven decision making and the organisation's digital transformation strategy. Drawing on strong technical leadership, the role is responsible for ensuring integration solutions are resilient, maintainable and aligned with business objectives.
Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings. We have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UK’s Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster. With plans to double our headcount over the coming years, supported by offices opening in new locations across the country and our strong investment pipeline, coupled with our expansion into new markets such as industrial power generation with our very own Energy-from-Waste facility, there is no better time to join the family here at Vital Energi.
A few key responsibilities:
- Solution Design & Architecture: Define integration architecture, standards, patterns and best practices. Design scalable, resilient and secure integration solutions aligned to business and technical requirements. Develop integration roadmaps that support future business growth.
- System Integration: Integrate business-critical systems using APIs, REST services, ETL processes, event-driven architectures and middleware technologies. Work with application owners and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data exchange across platforms.
- Governance & Standards: Establish and maintain integration governance, documentation and development standards. Define approaches for data mapping, transformation, monitoring, error handling and exception management.
- Performance and Reliability: Monitor and optimise integration performance, throughput and scalability. Identify and resolve bottlenecks across integration processes and data flows.
- Vendor and Platform Management: Evaluate integration technologies and third-party solutions. Manage relationships with integration vendors and platform providers where required.
Education & Experience:
- Strong understanding of integration architecture principles and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience designing API-led Service and oriented integrations.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP and associated integration services.
- Understanding of data modelling, data governance and data quality principles.
- Implementing integration solutions using authentication, authorisation and encryption techniques.
- Familiarity with agile delivery and encryption techniques.
Technical Competencies:
- Integration platform as a service (iPaaS), such as Workato or similar.
- API Design, Development and management.
- REST, JSON, SOAP and related integration standards.
- SQL and database design, development and administration.
- ETL and ETL pipeline development.
- Python and C# development.
- Data modelling and governance principles.
- Security, Authentication, and authorisation mechanisms for system integrations.
- Monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation of integration platforms.
