Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s Strategy of Growth? If so, we’re looking for a talented Lead Cyber Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Blackburn with support to sites.

Due to Vital Energi's continued growth, we are looking for a Lead Cyber Security engineer with a passion for cyber security along with a desire to relentlessly champion best practices. The role is responsible for implementing, configuring and guiding the evolution of security. The suitable candidate will be expected to possess strong motivational skills, with the ability to work on their own initiative. This role would suit a person who wishes to develop their existing skills and make their mark in an expanding and invigorating organization.

Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings. We have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UK’s Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster. With plans to double our headcount over the coming years, supported by offices opening in new locations across the country and our strong investment pipeline, coupled with our expansion into new markets such as industrial power generation with our very own Energy-from-Waste facility, there is no better time to join the family here at Vital Energi.

A few key responsibilities:

  • Management and tuning of security tools
  • Vulnerability assessment and remediation tracking
  • Population of Infosec questionnaires / RFI’s
  • Support implementation of security controls
  • Contribute to security policies, standards and procedures
  • Lead security audits
  • Drive a culture of security awareness across the business through training and communications
  • Out of hours work will be required

Education & Experience:

  • At least 5 GCSE’s
  • Information Security Experience (4 Years Minimum)

Qualifications:

  • Comptia Network+, Security+
  • Working towards CISM

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of core security technologies
  • Extensive NGAV experience (Crowdstrike preferred)
  • Information Security standards (CE+, ISO27001, IEC62443)
  • Data Protection knowledge (GDPR)
  • ISO27001, CE+, IEC62443
