The Opportunity
We are seeking motivated and talented individuals with an interest in the energy sector to join us on our journey. We are looking for someone to assist the HR department by providing accurate administrative support on a daily basis including to the HR and Training Team. As an Apprentice at Vital Energi you will study a Level 3 HR CIPD Apprenticeship, whilst playing a crucial role in developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administration services within the organisation. You will have clear objectives and be supported with training which will develop your personal and professional skills along the way!

What you’ll do at work:
- Updating the HR database with information such as training records, new starter information
- Maintaining personnel files and filing
- Assisting with recruitment administration (posting job ads, scheduling interviews)
- Preparing interview packs and candidate documentation
- Supporting onboarding processes (collecting right-to-work documents, creating induction packs)
- Updating employee records and HR databases
- Assisting with training coordination and booking courses
- Helping manage absence records and monitoring attendance
- Drafting HR letters (offer letters, probation confirmations, reference requests)
- Booking training courses and responding to training enquiries
- Issuing mandatory (e-learning) training requests/notification for existing and new employees
- Issuing Training Agreements where relevant
- Coordinating the payment of invoices and completing the monthly return for the training credit card
- Keeping all departmental Training matrix’s updated once training has been completed
- Arranging training facilities as required e.g. training rooms, copy training material, book refreshments etc.
Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential
Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
Other requirements:
Most journeys involving travel and hotels are subsidised by Vital Energi.
Your training plan:
You will be required to complete the relevant level qualification and will be supported by attending college on day release, or by work placed visits from our chosen apprenticeship provider.
After this apprenticeship:
Upon successful completion of your Level 3 qualification, it’s onwards and upwards as you progress on to L4/L5 or a degree apprenticeship qualification.
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Start date: September 2026
Duration: 18/24 months
Location: Blackburn - Century House, Roman Road, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB1 2LD
Training: An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
