Senior Quantity Surveyor

If so, due to our continuing success, we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth across all business sectors and are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a successful background in construction.
You will join our Commercial team, supporting a variety of projects across the North West and support the financial management of contracts in partnership with the Contracts Managers and/or Project Managers.
- What You Will Be Doing
- Work in partnership with site management, providing commercial support as required to develop a proactive site team and ensure contractual obligations are identified and administered.
- Vet contract documentation upon receipt from the client to ensure compatibility with the Company's tender submission and subsequent negotiations.
- Produce a Commercial Risk Register for each contract, monitoring risk and assisting in the implementation of agreed mitigation measures.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for major plant, equipment and subcontract packages.
Commercially evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing and terms with vendors, and issue resultant purchase orders.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and/or invoices, obtain payment certificates and progress client payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measure, submit and agree variations, loss and expense claims, and/or compensation events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate the prompt agreement of final accounts.
- Monitor on-site record keeping and prepare and issue notices in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and Cash/Spend Profiles. Attend Contract Review Meetings.
- Authorise and code suppliers' and subcontractors' invoices and submit them to Finance for payment.
- Measure, certify and agree subcontractors' interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to subcontractors.
Who We Are Looking For
- A Senior Quantity Surveyor with a successful track record in the construction industry.
- Educated to BSc level in Quantity Surveying (or another equivalent commercially related discipline).
- A strong understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 Contracts, including Options A, B, C, D and E, with predominantly Option A experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution (e. g. MRICS or equivalent).
- Knowledge and practical experience within the construction and/or mechanical and electrical (M&E) sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Full UK driving licence.
