We’re looking for an experienced and driven Civils Construction Manager to manage all Civil related aspects of a District Heating Network (DHN) Installation across the Southwest Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all civil aspects of the contract(s) with the aid of Contracts Managers, M&E construction Managers, Project Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Planning Manager.
- Attend pre-contract meetings in conjunction with senior commercial staff.
- Attend site meetings and provide feedback/progress reports to the wider management team.
- Maintain construction programmes.
- Early involvement with procurement of Civil sub-contractors for the project.
- Review systems and methods when required to improve civils performance.
- Addressing and resolving civils issues or problems that arise during the construction process.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating the work of different trades and subcontractors to ensure a smooth and efficient construction process.
- Promote and comply with the Company’s policies on equality and health and safety both in the delivery of service and the treatment of others.
- Engage with your manager in reviewing your performance and planning your development. Carry out other duties consistent with the nature, responsibilities and seniority of your post.
- Supervise, train, plan, organise, schedule, assign, review and evaluate the work of staff.
The Person:
- Civils Construction Management - Ideally Gas, Water Drainage, Trench Works experience.
- Level 6 NVQ in Construction Site Management.
- Level 6 Apprenticeship in Construction Site Management.
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction or related disciplines.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Construction Management or related disciplines.
Knowledge:
- Solid working knowledge of current internet technologies.
- Experience in managing projects.
- Experience with Deep Excavations Trenching etc.
- Temporary Works Management and implementation.
