Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s Strategy of Growth? If so, we are currently recruiting a Welder to join our growing team in Blackburn. The role will include manufacturing/fabricating brackets, pipework and equipment skids.
Main Duties:
- Stick/TIG Welding 3ML to 8ML
- Interpret drawings, prefabrication sketches and specifications to manufacture/fabricate brackets, pipework and equipment skids.
- Work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
- Respond positively and proactively to changes in schedule and requirements.
- Manage materials and consumables fabrication workshop.
- Work closely with the fabrication manager to achieve required deadlines.
- Identify resource requirements.
- Organise loading/unloading of delivery/collection materials at the prefabrication facility.
- Respect and care for company equipment and welfare facilities.
- Work in a safe manner using or wearing relevant Personal Protective Equipment.
Working hours: 7:30am till 4pm Monday to Friday
You will be required to complete a weld test at the interview which includes a positional butt weld.
Qualifications:
- Class 2 or 1 manual metal arc welding.
- Class 2 or 1 TIG welding.
- Previous coding's (In house coding's will be provided)
Knowledge:
- 5 years relevant welding experience working independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Accomplished Fabrication skills, pipe work installer skills and pipe work support design skills.
- Proper and effective use of all specialised and associated equipment to include familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welders, grinders etc.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and carry out tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Technically very competent.

- Good Oral and Written Communication Skills.
- A high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrate motivation, commitment, perseverance and conscientiousness.
