Vital Energi is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team and support the QMC-Hospital Project in the Nottingham area.
What You Will Be Doing
- Partner with site management to commercially support sites and develop a proactive site team, ensuring contractual obligations are identified and administered.
- Vet contract documentation on receipt from the client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s tender and subsequent negotiations.
- Produce a Commercial Risk Register for each contract, monitor risk and assist in implementing agreed mitigation measures.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub‑Contract packages; commercially vet quotations, negotiate price and terms with vendors, and issue resulting Purchase Orders.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and/or invoices, obtain payment certificates, and progress client payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measure, submit, and agree variations, loss & expense and/or compensation events to facilitate prompt final account agreement.
- Monitor on‑site record keeping and prepare notices in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Prepare and submit monthly Cost‑Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles, and attend contract review meetings.
- Authorize and code suppliers’ and sub‑contractors’ invoices, then submit to finance for payment.
- Measure, certify, and agree subcontractors’ interim valuations and final accounts, and prepare contractual notices to subcontractors.
Who We Are Looking For
- Successful construction portfolio and working experience in construction or M&E.
- Education to a BSc in Quantity Surveying (or an equivalent commercially related discipline).
- Good understanding of NEC Contracts 3/4, Options A‑E (primarily A).
- Membership of a professional institution (e.g., MRICS or similar).
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and acumen.
