Candidates do not need to have experience in all areas.

As a Plant Room Engineer, you will work within Energy Centres, Hospital Plant Rooms, and similar environments. • Electrical systems (control panels, motors, LV distribution, fault finding)

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance, pressures, flow rates, and energy efficiency.
  • Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, solar, or steam systems depending on your background.
  • Carry out corrective repairs or escalate to specialist contractors.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to building or energy centre operations.
  • Use BMS or SCADA systems to monitor plant operation.
  • Record and report system data (temperatures, pressures, energy consumption).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (HVAC, Gas Safe, water hygiene, LOLER, PUWER, electrical safety, etc.).
  • Complete risk assessments, method statements, and follow all health & safety protocols.
  • Support plant upgrades, refurbishments, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
  • Complete job sheets, service reports, and compliance documentation.
