Would you like to be part of Vital Energi's Strategy of Growth? If so, we're looking for a talented Commercial Executive to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Blackburn.
The role involves assisting with the financial management of O&M Contracts, in partnership with the Contracts Managers and/or Engineers and the wider Commercial Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting senior members of the commercial team on numerous projects with procurement, sub-contractor accounts, and variation accounts.
- Managing your own contracts and supporting the transition to 4PS.

A few key responsibilities include:
- Vetting contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations.
- Preparing and issuing enquiries for Plant, Materials, and Sub-Contract packages.
- Vetting quotations commercially and negotiating price and terms with vendors.
- Issuing resultant Purchase Orders.
- Preparing and submitting Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtaining Payment Certificates/Authorisation, and progressing Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measuring, submitting, and agreeing Variations and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Monitoring on-site record keeping (Eagle Records / Timesheets).
- Reviewing Eagle / Job Logic or equivalent system to ensure that we claim all reactive work and call outs.
- Preparing and submitting monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles (Trading Forecast).
- Attending Contract Review Meetings.
- Authorising and coding Suppliers and Sub-Contractors Invoices and submitting to Finance for payment.
- Measuring, certifying, and agreeing Sub-Contractors interim valuations.
- Preparing and issuing contractual notices to Sub-Contractors.
- Assisting the Finance Department in securing payment of Invoices and/or Applications for Payment, chasing and escalating any debt.
- Preparing monthly Commercial Reports and CVR Summary working with the Finance Team.
- Managing annual indexation in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Providing day-to-day admin support to Head of Commercial / Commercial Director and wider Commercial Services team as directed.
- Supporting with system transformation and launch of 4PS.
Education & Experience:
- 5 GCSE passes (grade A to C) including Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Minimum qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Quantity Surveying Degree or other related degree (or equivalent on-the-job experience).
- Full UK Driving License.
Knowledge:
- Good commercial awareness.
- Ability to provide assistance to clients, contractors, or work colleagues.
- Ability to respond promptly and efficiently to contract adjustments and alterations.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and carry out tasks in a high-pressure environment.
