Would you like to be part of Vital Energi's Strategy of Growth? If so, we're looking for a talented IT Project Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Blackburn with support to sites.

The role involves designing and installing controls networks while working closely with our field-based controls team. The purpose of this role is to assist the IT Infrastructure manager with the continual smooth running of the IT systems. You will provide technical support onsite and remotely.

The Company

Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting hospitals, universities, new build developments, towns and cities as well as industrial and commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings. We have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UK's Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster.

With plans to double our headcount over the coming years, supported by offices opening in new locations across the country and our strong investment pipeline, coupled with our expansion into new markets such as industrial power generation with our very own Energy-from-Waste facility, there is no better time to join the family here at Vital Energi.

A few key responsibilities:

  • 1st and 2nd Line Troubleshooting
  • Reviewing tender specifications, designing basic networks
  • Visiting sites across the UK to support and install IT Infrastructure
  • Ownership of BMS IT Infrastructure
  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, internal controls team and clients
  • Organising and scheduling upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Technical documentation creation
  • Out of hours work will be required

Education & Experience:

  • Certified IT Technician would be an advantage (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+)
  • A full UK driving licence

Knowledge:

  • End user compute (Windows 11)
  • Server Knowledge (2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Firewall (Cisco Meraki, Fortinet)
  • Networking knowledge (VLANs, VPNs, SDWAN)
  • Key security concepts relating to CompTIA Security+
  • Basic Information Security Experience (1 Year)
