A well-established financial services business operating across the UK and Ireland is looking for an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team. The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in managing aged debt, improving collection processes, and building strong working relationships with both internal teams and external partners. You'll be the go-to person for everything credit control - from overseeing premium collections to leading monthly review meetings with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the timely recovery of outstanding balances across multiple business entities
  • Identify risk early by highlighting potential bad debts and recommending appropriate action
  • Liaise with clients and brokers to resolve queries and ensure smooth payment processes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor reports, including aged debt summaries and ad hoc analysis
  • Ensure internal SLAs are met for all credit control-related queries, both via email and internal systems
  • Lead monthly credit control review sessions with senior management, offering insights and recommendations
  • Assist with payment allocations, account reconciliations, and support broader finance operations where needed
  • Help maintain the bank portal and assist in managing the team's payment rota

About You:

  • You'll bring at least 7 years' experience in a credit control role, ideally within financial services or insurance
  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage credibly with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Confident in interpreting legal procedures around insolvency and recovery across the UK and Ireland
  • Highly organised with a methodical approach and keen eye for detail
  • Comfortable using Excel to a high level (pivot tables, lookups etc.)
  • Knowledge of the insurance sector would be beneficial but not essential
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused
