FMCG Manufacturing | 15-Month Maternity Cover | Up to £90,000 Base + Package (Car/ Bonus)
We are supporting a well-established, high-volume FMCG manufacturer in the appointment of a Site Finance Controller on a 15-month maternity cover contract for one of its largest UK production facilities. This is a key leadership position within a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Sitting on the Site Leadership Team, you will partner closely with the Plant Manager and senior stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain and Finance to drive performance, strengthen controls and support strategic decision-making. This site represents a significant and highly visible operation within the wider group.
The Role
As Site Finance Controller, you will take full ownership of site finance, providing both strategic direction and hands-on leadership. You will ensure robust financial planning and governance while delivering meaningful insight that drives operational and commercial performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a strategic business partner to the Site Leadership Team, shaping objectives and performance targets, and translating operational activity into clear financial insight
- Leading the annual budget, periodic forecasting and longer-term planning processes across manufacturing costs, labour, overheads, logistics and capital investment
- Delivering high-quality reporting and analysis, including weekly performance updates, monthly management accounts, variance analysis and KPI tracking
- Challenging and improving cost performance across materials, labour efficiency, overhead absorption and waste, identifying risks and opportunities to enhance profitability
- Ensuring strong financial governance and control, including balance sheet integrity, inventory management, audit compliance and adherence to group accounting standards
- Providing financial oversight of capital projects, product changes, process improvements and cost-saving initiatives, ensuring clear tracking of spend and benefits
- Leading and developing the on-site finance team while building broader financial awareness across operational functions
- Driving continuous improvement within finance processes, enhancing accuracy, pace and insight through simplification and smarter ways of working
Package
- Salary up to £90,000 per annum (base)
