An established and growing organisation is seeking a Financial Accountant to play a pivotal role within its finance function. This position is well suited to a technically strong, qualified accountant who thrives in an autonomous environment and enjoys taking ownership of complex accounting areas.
You will be responsible for core accounting, reporting and consolidation activities, working closely with Group Finance and other stakeholders. The role requires confidence, initiative and the ability to drive work through to completion with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly IFRS consolidations for a defined business area, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance
- Manage and reconcile intercompany balances, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Produce statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and relevant local GAAP requirements
- Maintain, review and reconcile capital expenditure balances, with a particular focus on intangible assets and amortisation
- Prepare technical accounting papers to support key judgments and treatments
- Provide support to senior finance leadership and contribute to wider group reporting and analysis
- Act as a key finance contact for internal stakeholders, communicating complex accounting matters clearly
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS with proven financial reporting experience
- Demonstrable experience of consolidating multiple entities, including intercompany accounting and statutory accounts preparation
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of deliverables
- Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
The role offers hybrid working, a salary of up to Β£55,000 per annum, plus a competitive bonus of 10-20%, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a high-performing finance team.
