We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join a dynamic team within a highly exciting, sought-after business, based in the St Albans area. This exciting opportunity offers a supportive working environment and the chance to contribute to key financial operations, including payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing & Reconciliation: Handle credit card transactions, ensuring accurate processing, approval, and reconciliation.
  • Prepayments & Costs: Track and manage prepayments, and reconcile costs associated with business operations, including event-related expenses.
  • Payment Processing & Bank Reconciliations: Process payments as needed and conduct monthly bank reconciliations to maintain cash flow accuracy.
  • Month-End Journals & Reporting: Prepare month-end journals for event-related costs, ensuring all financial records are precise and up-to-date.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with the preparation and processing of the company payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. This includes maintaining employee records, calculating overtime, and ensuring compliance with tax and National Insurance requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance role (Accounts Assistant, Accounts Receivable, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in using accounting systems (SAP or similar) and MS Excel
  • Experience in payroll processing is highly desirable
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Full UK driving licence or the ability to commute to various locations as required

This is an office-based role located in the St Albans area, offering a supportive and collaborative team environment. After completing your probation period, you will be eligible for 1 day of remote working each week.
