Assistant Accountant – Exciting Opportunity in Camden
Location: Camden, London
Salary: Up to 35k (depending on experience)
Work Arrangement: Monday to Thursday in the office, Fridays working from home
I’m currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a fast-growing, dynamic company based in Camden, London. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their skills in a creative, ambitious environment. The role offers a great work-life balance with Mondays to Thursdays in the office and Fridays working from home.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Managing UK supplier payments and entering them into the company’s accounting software, Access.
Handling interbank currency transfers and calculating product royalty payments.
Raising ad hoc invoices, entering exchange rates, and preparing stock valuation reports.
Organising supplier invoices and assisting with quarterly VAT returns.
Reconciling payment portals (PayPal, Braintree, etc.) and dealing with deferred/postponed VAT.
Processing staff expenses, analysing credit card statements, and entering data into nominal codes.
Preparing commission statements and managing direct debit entries.
Acting as the main point of contact for external credit controllers, handling enquiries regarding specific accounts.
What We’re Looking For:
Ideally, AAT level qualified (or equivalent), with at least part-qualification.
Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounts role.
Familiarity with accounting software (Access experience is desirable).
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A proactive, hands-on attitude, comfortable working in a busy and varied role.
The ability to communicate effectively with external parties, including credit controllers.
