Fantastic opportunity to join this progressive circa £60M t/o market leading business during a period of sustained growth. The business is well funded with ambitious growth plans which has created an opportunity for a Finance Manager to work closely with the CFO in what will effectively be the No.2 role in finance.

The role would suit a Qualified finance professional (ACA / ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA) seeking a move out of practice into commerce or someone already in commerce who has progressed their career within a management accounting environment and is seeking a step up in responsibility. If coming from practice you will already have experience of Accounts Preparation, Management Accounts, VAT, etc. rather than straight from Audit.

Whilst predominately responsible for Management Accounting and Financial Reporting, the role is broader in the sense that there is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in other areas including Commercial Analysis and Financial Planning & Analysis. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working within an SME business where the nature of the work is broad in its nature from reconciliations, journals and month-end to budgeting, forecasting and working with Auditors at Year-End.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management and development of a small finance team circa 5.
  • Produce the Monthly Management Pack in a timely manner (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow).
  • Prepare monthly accruals, prepayments and other journals as required.
  • Review all acting entries ensuring corrections are made and costs correctly posted.
  • Assist with Budgets and Forecasts. Variance Analysis and commentary.
  • Adhoc analysis around pricing, margin, sales and KPI reporting packs.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts.
  • Delivery of Monthly Management Accounts, Board Packs, Periodic forecasts, Year-end and other reporting requirements.
  • System development as required, to ensure the accountancy system functions move efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintenance of General Ledger systems.
  • Ensure all Finance processes are documented to enable sharing of knowledge and enable other members of the team to support each other.
  • Ensure statutory and audit requirements are met and schedules for auditors are prepared.
  • Supporting statutory reporting and acting as a key contact with Auditors.

To Apply Applicants MUST meet the following criteria please:

  • Fully Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Must have a good technical accounting background within Financial / Management Accounting.
  • Must have previous experience of Month End reporting and assisting Auditors at year end, Balance Sheet, VAT etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Must live within a sensible commuting time (30 Mins) to Potters Bar and be able to work 3-4 days in the office.
