Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant of the business unit, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of the management accounts of the team. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work to and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines.
Key Duties:
- Preparation of periodic financial reporting and analysis packages for the team on a timely and accurate basis
- Ensuring that invoicing for contracts is correct and up to date (including setting up new projects within the relevant system)
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
- Assist with the year-end audit and liaising with external auditors and tax advisors
- Assist with the migration of data and processes to the new ERP system
- Executing additional tasks to meet changing business needs and departmental objectives
The successful candidate will have experience of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounting routines within a commercial organisation. Likely to be AAT qualified/part qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA, however qualified by experience will also be considered.
