Vitae Financial Recruitment is working with a growing international organisation to recruit a Financial Controller for its UK finance function. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the financial control and technical accounting function across a number of UK entities, while helping shape the future structure of the finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead financial control, month-end reporting and technical accounting, while managing and developing the existing finance team. You will also play a key role in improving processes and controls and supporting the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The role will initially be predominantly office-based in Fleet, particularly during the initial handover and transition period, with hybrid working expected to develop thereafter. The current expectation is around 1 day working from home, although this is open to discussion. Candidates should ideally live within approximately a 30-minute drive of Fleet.

About you

  • We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller, or technically strong Senior Finance Manager, with:
  • Strong financial control and technical accounting experience
  • Experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Excellent month-end, balance sheet and reporting knowledge
  • A good understanding of UK accounting standards
  • Experience improving processes, controls and systems
  • The confidence to take ownership and challenge existing ways of working
  • Experience with Business Central / Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous but is not essential

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to shape and develop a finance function, rather than simply inherit an established role.
