Are you passionate about food quality, safety and doing things the right way? Do you love digging into the detail and helping teams deliver their best? Vitacress Herbs is looking for a Quality Auditor to join our Technical team!

As a Quality Auditor, you’ll play a key role in making sure our products are safe, legal and consistently excellent — from field to fork. This role is perfect for someone with experience in food quality who enjoys variety, teamwork and taking ownership.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be the eyes and ears of quality on site, ensuring that customer expectations, legislation and industry standards are met every day.
  • Carry out audits including hygiene, GMP, glass and hard plastics.
  • Follow up on non-conformances using root cause analysis.
  • Verify all food safety, legality and quality records.
  • Support internal and external audits, working closely with your line manager.
  • Analyse product samples and complete quality checks at start and end of each run.
  • Place non-conforming products on hold and investigate root causes.
  • Collect micro and water samples, calibrate equipment and support line checks.
  • Monitor production lines for safety, quality and compliance.
  • Support complaint investigations and corrective actions.
  • Communicate key quality findings across growing, procurement and technical teams.
  • Keep systems up to date, including labelling and weighing software.
  • Help train production teams and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Working environment:

  • Factory & office-based.
  • Chilled environment (PPE provided).
  • 4 on / 3 off shift pattern, starting 6:15am Wednesdays alternate between early and late shift (every 3 months).
  • Extra hours during peak periods such as Christmas and Easter.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:
  • At least 1 year’s QA experience in fresh produce or similar.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
  • Strong numeracy & attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of HACCP.
  • Clear communicator who works well alone and as part of a team.
  • Able to keep accurate records and stay calm under pressure.
  • Able to follow customer specifications confidently.
Desirable:
  • Food Hygiene Level 2.
  • HACCP Level 2.
  • Internal Auditor experience.
  • IFS or Greenlight QC knowledge.
Personal attributes:
  • Calm, logical and confident in decision-making.
  • Positive about Health & Safety.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Professional when managing challenging situations.
