We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Yard Operative to join our Distribution & Logistics team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll keep our yard running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. With shunting duties included, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and being part of a key operational team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely load and unload vehicles in line with company procedures
- Shunt trailers around site, including intake and dispatch bays
- Manage and move crates, pallets, and dolavs across site
- Operate equipment such as FLT and JCB/rotator
- Carry out waste management and disposal tasks
- Keep the yard clean, organised, and safe at all times
- Conduct stock counts of crates, pallets, and materials
- Support the wider site with bins, housekeeping, and general yard duties
What We’re Looking For
- A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures accurately
- Strong awareness of health & safety standards
- Comfortable working in an outdoor environment
- Previous experience in a similar yard or logistics role
- Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
- Shunter experience or full UK driving licence (essential)
- Experience operating machinery (e.g., JCB) is advantageous
