Salary: Competitive

Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm + 1 hour lunch break

Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days working from home

The role.... Are you detail-oriented, committed to maintaining high standards, and passionate about delivering quality? We are seeking a proactive and organised Quality Control Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our products, processes, and services consistently meet regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations. Working collaboratively across departments, you will help drive continuous improvement, identify opportunities to enhance quality, and contribute to maintaining a culture of excellence throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities Will Include...

  • Quality Control Testing & Review
    • Review analytical, microbiological, and physical test results for raw materials, bulk products, and finished goods.
    • Evaluate test data against approved specifications and acceptance criteria.
    • Review and verify data generated by contract testing laboratories where applicable.
    • Participate in investigations with contract manufacturers relating to out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT), atypical results, and deviations.
  • Bulk Product Review
    • Review bulk product samples and associated test results prior to packaging or further processing.
    • Assess manufacturing and laboratory documentation to support bulk product approval.
    • Escalate quality issues and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Stability Programme Management
    • Review ongoing and completed stability study data for finished products and raw materials.
    • Assess stability results against approved shelf-life specifications and acceptance criteria.
    • Identify and investigate out-of-trend or adverse stability results.
    • Support shelf-life assignment, extension, and product expiry date verification activities.
    • Prepare stability summaries and trend reports for management review.
    • Ensure stability protocols, sampling schedules, and documentation are maintained in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Certificate of Analysis (CoA) Generation
    • Generate, review, and issue Certificates of Analysis for raw materials, bulk products, and finished goods.
    • Verify the accuracy of analytical data, specifications, product information, and batch details prior to CoA release.
    • Ensure CoAs meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
    • Maintain controlled records of issued Certificates of Analysis.
  • Raw Material Release
    • Review supplier Certificates of Analysis, technical documentation, and incoming inspection records.
    • Assess testing results to determine suitability of raw materials for production use.
    • Approve and release compliant raw materials within the quality management system.
    • Place non-compliant materials on hold or reject them in accordance with company procedures.
    • Support supplier quality investigations when quality concerns arise.
  • Compliance & Quality Systems
    • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food supplement regulations, and internal quality procedures.
    • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
    • Participate in deviation investigations, CAPA activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Assist with specification management and document control processes.
    • Support product stability and shelf-life monitoring programmes where applicable.
    • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with departmental procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Contribute to quality metrics reporting and trend analysis.
    • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the business.

Requirements

  • Essential
    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or a related discipline.
    • Experience working within a pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food supplement, or regulated manufacturing environment.
    • Understanding of GMP and quality management systems.
    • Experience reviewing analytical data and quality documentation.
  • Desirable
    • Knowledge of HACCP and food supplement regulations.
    • Experience generating Certificates of Analysis and batch release documentation.
