Receptionist position — part-time. Support the Office Manager at our Head Office in Alderley Edge on a fixed-term basis, with a view to permanent appointment based on performance and business needs.

Location: Alderley Edge. Initial pattern: two days per week on a six-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of permanent appointment and potential to provide additional holiday cover when required.

Responsibilities
  • Be the first point of contact for visitors and provide a friendly welcome to all visitors and colleagues.
  • Create a brilliant arrival experience and oversee reception and meeting room areas to ensure a tidy, welcoming appearance.
  • Oversee meeting room bookings and prepare for external meetings, including organising and providing refreshments as required.
  • Direct inbound calls and organise ad hoc hospitality and travel as required.
  • Support the Office Manager with front-of-house duties and maintain a positive, professional environment.
  • Play a central role in smooth day-to-day running of the office with internal customer service to colleagues.
  • Post communications on Vita Group's internal platform Viva Engage and be responsible for first aid in the workplace.
Operational
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post and packages, including daily courier drop-offs and collections.
  • Audit and log office maintenance issues and liaise with approved third parties to resolve.
  • Manage courier systems, stationery and general office orders and other third-party suppliers as necessary.
  • Purchase office supplies as required and be the primary contact for the property’s authorised contractors.
  • Coordinate contractors carrying out planned maintenance work and ensure understanding of fire, emergency and health & safety procedures.
  • Identify and report hazards promptly.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of administrative tasks to support all functions of the office.
  • Support miscellaneous business projects as required.
Who We’re Looking For

A highly driven, detail-oriented, and empathetic part-time Receptionist with a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of the importance of this role in creating a great working environment.

Professional Experience
  • Previous experience in a front of house/customer-facing role.
  • Customer-focused background with a confident and articulate telephone manner in a professional office setting.
  • Proficient in IT and online tools with intermediate skills in Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong prioritisation and organisational skills and a responsible approach to handling confidential information.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to last-minute changes while maintaining a proactive attitude.
Personal Characteristics
  • A friendly, welcoming disposition and ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and clients.
  • Ability to work at the front desk, either independently or as part of a team, with sound judgement and professionalism.
  • Maintain high standards and care about the reception, communal areas and meeting rooms.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of solving problems, especially during quieter periods.
  • Strong sense of ownership, emotional intelligence and a can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile when required and excellent listening and communication skills.
