The Role
- Lead and develop a team of six Estimators, overseeing the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for projects ranging from £100,000 to £10 million.
- Work closely with senior leadership to secure new business opportunities, enhance estimating processes and drive departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of six Estimators
- Manage and review tenders, estimates and cost plans
- Ensure all submissions are accurate, commercially robust and competitive
- Prepare and oversee pricing for new-build and refurbishment projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Identify and implement improvements to estimating processes and efficiencies
- Support tender strategy, bid reviews and business growth initiatives
- Provide commercial insight and reporting to senior management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within the construction sector
- Strong knowledge of both new-build and refurbishment projects
- Previous experience of public sector tendering
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost planning expertise
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing estimating teams
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
