About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager with a strong architectural background who is looking to take a key role in delivering high-quality construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring all designs are coordinated, buildable, compliant, and delivered in line with programme requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the design process across multiple construction projects
- Review and manage design information to ensure accuracy, buildability, and compliance
- Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
- Monitor design programmes and ensure information is issued in line with project requirements
- Identify and resolve design issues throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, planning conditions, and client specifications
- Attend design team meetings and provide technical guidance where required
- Support project teams during both pre-construction and delivery phases
- Manage design risks and contribute to successful project outcomes
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Design Manager within the construction industry
- Architectural background is essential
- Experience working for a main contractor, or strong understanding of main contractor delivery
- Strong technical knowledge of construction detailing and Building Regulations
- Excellent understanding of the design and construction process
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex design packages
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in reviewing technical drawings and construction documentation
