The Role
- Lead and develop a team of six Estimators, overseeing the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for projects ranging from £100,000 to £10 million.
- Work closely with senior leadership to secure new business opportunities, enhance estimating processes and drive departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of six Estimators.
- Manage and review tenders, estimates and cost plans.
- Ensure all submissions are accurate, commercially robust and competitive.
- Prepare and oversee pricing for new-build and refurbishment projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Identify and implement improvements to estimating processes and efficiencies.
- Support tender strategy, bid reviews and business growth initiatives.
- Provide commercial insight and reporting to senior management.
About You
- Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within the construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of both new-build and refurbishment projects.
- Previous experience of public sector tendering.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost planning expertise.
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing estimating teams.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively.
