We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction works on a live school project in Southampton, so you must have Enhanced DBS. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised Site Manager with a strong background in delivering construction projects safely, on time and to a high standard. As the project will be carried out within a live educational environment, maintaining the highest levels of health and safety, communication and site control is essential.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site activities and maintain excellent communication with the project team while ensuring minimal disruption within the live school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the construction site.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure work is completed to programme and quality standards.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Maintain a safe, secure and well-organised site at all times.
- Coordinate site logistics and daily activities.
- Carry out site inspections and monitor the quality of workmanship.
- Manage site documentation, including site diaries and health and safety records.
- Chair and attend site meetings as required.
- Liaise with the client, project managers and other stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve site issues quickly to minimise delays.
- Ensure works are carried out with minimal disruption to the school's staff, pupils and day-to-day operations.

We are looking for someone who is confident leading teams in a busy construction environment and who has excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be proactive, solutions-focused and capable of making informed decisions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Manager on construction projects.
- Experience working on live occupied sites, ideally within schools or other public buildings.
- Valid SMSTS qualification.
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential due to the nature of the project).
- Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills.
- Ability to manage programmes, deadlines and multiple workstreams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
