About the role
This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. We have good financial data and core processes in place, but a number of key reporting and planning workstreams are still manual and time-intensive. You'll come in, understand the current state, and build automated, scalable solutions - using AI tools where they add real value - that give the business clear, real-time visibility on its numbers. AI is central to how we want to work: we're not looking for someone who will consider using it, we're looking for someone who already does. You'll work directly with the Finance Director and hand over clean, documented infrastructure before you leave.
The day-to-day:
- Budget vs actuals dashboard: a clear, automated view for budget holders across the business
- Covenant calculations: automated monitoring for our revolving credit facility
- SaaS metrics dashboard: ARR, churn, net revenue retention, and related metrics in a single live view
- Board reporting: automated data population for monthly and quarterly Board packs, reducing manual rebuild time
- Customer profitability: a framework and reporting view to track margin by customer
- Cost tracking: improved visibility on cost lines across the business
- Wider finance improvements: identify and eliminate other high-impact manual processes, using AI-assisted approaches where appropriate
About you
- 3 to 6 years in FP&A, ideally within a SaaS or technology business
- AI-native: you use AI tools as a core part of how you work, not an occasional add-on. Familiarity with Claude is a strong plus
- Strong builder mindset - you enjoy creating systems, not just running them
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets, including financial modelling
- Comfortable pulling and transforming data from multiple sources (Xero, Salesforce, and similar)
- Solid understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, NRR, LTV)
- Experience producing Board-level reporting
- Able to work autonomously, manage your own priorities, and deliver to deadlines in a lean team
- Strong documentation habits - you leave things in better shape than you found them
Nice to have:
- Experience with BI tools (Looker, Power BI, or similar)
- Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
- Prior experience in a contract or project-based finance role
