The role involves supporting delivery of a 10‑week course combining Talking Therapies with guided physical activity, designed for patients with long‑term conditions (LTCs) experiencing low mood. The course is delivered jointly with a Health & Wellbeing Coach to embed psychological and physical health support, aiming to build confidence, routine, and sustainable lifestyle change.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the 10‑week course combining Talking Therapies and guided physical activity for patients with LTCs experiencing low mood.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Wellbeing Coach to deliver joint sessions.
  • Provide practical tools for patients to self‑manage their condition beyond the course, reducing long‑term reliance on health services.
  • Work alongside the LTC lead and health & wellbeing team to offer Get Active for Low mood webinars for clients with long‑term health conditions.
  • Assess suitability of new referrals via telephone assessments.
  • Provide short‑term, low‑intensity interventions via telephone, online webinars, and computerised CBT (cCBT).
  • Coordinate with Steps 3 & 4 colleagues and external services for safe onward referrals and step‑ups, maintaining patient dignity, confidentiality and inclusivity.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Low Intensity Interventions (Adults).
  • BABCP or BPS registration (or pending registration) or discuss requirements.
  • Experience working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
  • Hybrid role based in West Essex.
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK. Position subject to DBS check.
