Working Patterns: Our Management Team work flexibly throughout the working week Monday – Sunday. Days and hours will rotate weekly subject to demands and team availability, working on average 1 weekend out of 3 or 4.

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Residence Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our student residential property and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all residents. Our Residence Managers manage a team of dedicated employees, including Assistant Managers, Supervisors, Maintenance Teams, Customer Service & Housekeeping; our Residence Managers deliver exceptional leadership, whilst streamlining best practice for optimal service and delivery. This is a critical and highly visible role within Vita Student with an overall responsibility to ensure our buildings, services and amenities run smoothly meeting our premium and luxury brand standards.

  • Leadership: Motivate and lead the team effectively, providing clear communication and a positive work environment with a focus on a high level of empathy and understanding to achieve optimal results within the team.
  • Tenant Management: Handle resident enquiries, addressing complaints, resolving disputes, and maintaining positive relationships with tenants and guests.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate repairs and maintenance requests with maintenance operatives and contractors. Inspect property for issues ensuring timely completion of works.
  • Financial Management: Manage tenant agreements and monitor Profit & Loss (P&L) accordingly, identifying cost-savings without negatively impacting luxury amenities and offerings to residents.
  • Health & Safety/Compliance: Enforce building rules and regulations, ensuring adherence to laws and safety standards.
  • Emergency Response: The first point of contact for emergencies, coordinating necessary actions during critical situations.
  • Marketing & Event Management: Assist with marketing vacant studios, showcasing properties to potential tenants, and managing the leasing process. Organise events and initiatives to foster a positive community atmosphere.

  • Professional Experience: An experienced and accomplished leader having overseen team management, daily operations, facilities management, and budgeting. Skilled in leading and developing teams, ensuring high levels of staff performance and satisfaction. Premium brand ambassador, having served as the face of a luxury brand, effectively communicating the brand's story and values to existing and prospective customers. Strong experience in creating and managing operating budgets, reducing costs, and negotiating contracts. Developed and implemented customer satisfaction programs. In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and safety procedures. Our operations run seamlessly with the support of a variety of technology systems and software; our Residence Manager must be technologically astute.
  • Personal Characteristics: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, lead and develop teams effectively. A hands-on attitude, combined with strong communication and people management skills. A strategic thinker. Flexibility: An ability and enthusiasm for working in a varied job with rotating shift patterns, days and hours. Shifts can start as early as 7am and finish as late as 9pm with an expectation of doing 2 late finishes per week and 1 weekend in 3.
