Overview

We seek experienced Production Chemists for adhoc/call out jobs for production/process operations offshore UK

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate compliance to all test methods, procedures and quality systems essential for best practice
  • Liaise with appropriate Client support if a problem with equipment, methods or samples occurs and initiate corrective actions to ensure continuity of service
  • Identify and implement improvements to current laboratory operation/infrastructure in order to maximise equipment availability and effective operations
  • Ensure technical standards competence standards are maintained and continually improved
  • Ensure compliance with client equipment management requirements
  • Ensure adequate stock of consumables to ensure continuous productivity
  • Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and safe/ suitable for use
  • Completion of daily, weekly and monthly routine sampling, analysis and reporting as per platform procedures/sampling schedule
  • Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to permit traceability and ensure compliance
  • Comprehensive understanding, knowledge of laboratory and analytical techniques and equipment to promote continuous improvement and provision of quality service to client
  • Resolution of adhoc requests in a timely and effective manner to ensure effective operations
  • Provision of end of trip handover reports and additional reports as required to Client personnel
  • Provide training and mentoring of additional team members as required

Skills/Experience

  • Experience of Off-shore Oil Industry related analysis encompassing a broad spectrum of methods and analysis to meet exacting process and client demands
  • Oil in water training
  • Oil in sand training
  • Chemical Injection training on pumps
  • Must be computer literate in use of word and excel
  • Must have and maintain knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods
  • Must have detailed knowledge of international analytical standards and operational procedures, understanding there-in and ensure laboratory processes adhere to said standards

Qualifications

  • HND Degree level in chemistry or related science based subject, or equivalent
  • Full Offshore industry standard training package

Certificates

  • OPTIO/NOGEPA or OLF Offshore survival
  • OGUK, NOGEPA or Norwegian Offshore Medical
  • Shoulder Measurements
