We seek experienced Production Chemists for adhoc/call out jobs for production/process operations offshore UK.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate compliance to all test methods, procedures and quality systems essential for best practice.
- Liaise with appropriate Client support if a problem with equipment, methods or samples occurs and initiate corrective actions to ensure continuity of service.
- Identify and implement improvements to current laboratory operation/infrastructure in order to maximise equipment availability and effective operations.
- Ensure technical standards competence standards are maintained and continually improved.
- Ensure compliance with client equipment management requirements.
- Ensure adequate stock of consumables to ensure continuous productivity.
- Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and safe/suitable for use.
- Completion of daily, weekly and monthly routine sampling, analysis and reporting as per platform procedures/sampling schedule.
- Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to permit traceability and ensure compliance.
- Comprehensive understanding, knowledge of laboratory and analytical techniques and equipment to promote continuous improvement and provision of quality service to client.
- Resolution of adhoc requests in a timely and effective manner to ensure effective operations.
- Provision of end of trip handover reports and additional reports as required to Client personnel.
- Provide training and mentoring of additional team members as required.
Skills/Experience
- Experience of Off-shore Oil Industry related analysis encompassing a broad spectrum of methods and analysis to meet exacting process and client demands.
- Oil in water training.
- Oil in sand training.
- Chemical Injection training on pumps.
- Must be computer literate in use of word and excel.
- Must have and maintain knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods.
- Must have detailed knowledge of international analytical standards and operational procedures, understanding there-in and ensure laboratory processes adhere to said standards.
Qualifications
- HND Degree level in chemistry or related science based subject, or equivalent.
- Full Offshore industry standard training package.
- Certificates OPTIO/NOGEPA or OLF Offshore survival.
- OGUK, NOGEPA or Norwegian Offshore Medical.
- Shoulder Measurements.
