Design Engineer Job Overview Produce bespoke mechanical designs to meet customer requirements. Modify existing products for new applications and customer specifications. Create engineering drawings, bills of materials and supporting documentation. Work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver practical engineering solutions. Provide technical support throughout the design and manufacturing process. Liaise with production to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture. Assist with resolving technical issues and support continuous product improvement. Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team on a variety of customer-driven projects. Design Engineer Job Requirements Previous experience within a mechanical design or engineering environment. HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is advantageous, although relevant industry experience will also be considered. Experience using 3D CAD software. Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Confident communicator who enjoys working with both customers and internal teams. Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks.
