Technical Sales Manager
What we\’re looking for:
Successful candidates need to be well experienced at working in the conveyor industry. We envisage they will have been in this field for at least 10 years.
They should have a proven track record in industrial equipment sales.
We are looking for someone with proven capabilities in mechanical engineering either through an engineering degree, apprenticeship or being qualified by their experiences to date.
Client Relationship Management:
- Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
- A strong understanding of communication so that information is delivered effectively and appropriately to different audiences – this is fundamental of strong account management
- Oversee relevant projects to make sure deliverables are met and customers are happy.
Technical Expertise:
- Possess a deep understanding of the conveyor/automation industry and our products and services.
- Essential to know how different types of conveyors work and, to a basic extent, diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
- Understand the pros and cons of each conveyor type and be able to convey this when developing sales proposals and customer presentations.
- Be able to explain technical concepts to customers in a way they understand.
- Understand typical conveyor application requirements across multiple target industries and put together and present proposals that are both technical and commercial.
- Essential to have good working knowledge of all MS Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects and also to understand create and modify 2D Drawings in AutoCAD
- To be able to use the above software tools to develop and present technical and commercial proposals to clients
- Advantageous to have a basic knowledge of 3D design using Inventor
Sales Process Management & Business Development:
- Enjoy the working from home experience and have a self-sufficient working style. Be self-motivated to meet the company’s requirements and needs each day.
- Consistently build short term and long-term sales opportunities
- Be proactive in identifying and developing new opportunities, industries and customers in order to expand the company’s customer database.
- Manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals, and ensure efficient execution of the sales process.
- Contribute to the development of the company\’s overall roadmap by identifying customer needs and market trends.
Collaboration:
- Be able to work across functions with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and other internal/external teams to align sales efforts with company goals and provide customer insights.
Project Management
- Support the Contracts Manager with project management capabilities when required – this could be to cover leave or when workload is high and we need to incorporate the wider team’s capabilities.
- Manage your own complex projects through specification, design, manufacture, delivery, install and commissioning stages.
