We are looking for an Outbound Sales Development Representative to join our Sales team to work from our Stockton-on-Tees office. The role holder should be a confident and results-driven telesales marketing consultant to engage potential customers, promote our products or services, and convert leads into sales opportunities. The primary focus is making outbound calls to generate qualified leads, book appointments for Sales Consultants, and drive attendance to marketing events. This is a high-energy, phone-based role where success is measured by calls made, appointments booked, and attendees confirmed. You’ll play a critical role in filling sales diaries and ensuring strong turnout for marketing-led events.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation and Appointment Setting
    • Make a high volume of outbound calls to targeted prospect lists
    • Follow up with emails to confirm agreements made
    • Qualify leads and book appointments directly into Sales Consultants’ diaries
    • Clearly explain products, services, or solutions to generate interest
    • Ensure all booked appointments meet agreed qualification criteria
    • Confirm, remind, and follow up appointments to maximise attendance
  • Event Promotion and Attendance
    • Proactively call prospects and customers to promote upcoming events
    • Secure registrations and confirmations for webinars, workshops, and in-person events (when required)
    • Follow up with registered attendees to reduce no-shows
    • Capture feedback and next steps post-event
  • Campaign Execution & Data Management
    • Work from marketing campaigns, call lists, and lead databases
    • Accurately log all calls, outcomes, and notes in the CRM system
    • Track call volumes, appointments booked, and attendance conversion
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to improve scripts and messaging

KPIs

Performance in this role will be measured against clear, achievable targets, which will increase as proficiency and confidence develop. KPIs will include, but are not limited to:

  • Outbound call volume (daily and weekly targets)
  • Qualified leads generated
  • Appointments booked for Sales Consultants
  • Appointment attendance rate (show vs. no-show)
  • Event registrations secured
  • Event attendance conversion
  • Data accuracy and CRM compliance
  • Quality of lead qualification in line with agreed criteria

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in telesales, telemarketing, lead generation, or appointment setting
  • Confident and professional telephone manner
  • Strong persuasion and objection-handling skills
  • Target-driven and comfortable working to daily call and booking KPIs
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using CRM systems

Desirable

  • Experience booking appointments for field or desk-based sales teams
  • Experience promoting events or driving webinar attendance
  • B2B telesales or outbound marketing experience
