As an SEO Executive, you are the delivery role of your POD. Your role is to support the Senior Account Directors and Account Directors by executing the technical, strategic, and PR tasks required to drive client performance.
SEO Strategy and Execution
- Auditing & Analysis: Conduct detailed technical audits, content audits, backlink profiles and other audits as briefed by the Account Directors. You will compile the raw data and initial findings for the AD to use.
- Keyword Research: Perform in-depth keyword research and competitor gap analysis to identify new opportunities for our clients.
- Implementation: Take ownership of on-site changes. This includes uploading content to client CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Shopify, Magento), optimising meta data, fixing broken links, and implementing internal linking strategies.
- Quality Control: Conduct meaningful checks on all deliverables to ensure they meet the agency's high standards before they are passed to the Account Director.
Digital PR Delivery
- Outreach: Execute PR campaigns by conducting outreach to journalists, bloggers, and editors. Build and maintain targeted media lists using our PR database tools.
- Asset Creation: Support the creation of press releases and campaign assets, ensuring they are formatted correctly and ready for distribution.
Reporting and Data
- Performance Reporting: Compile data reports for the POD. You will pull data from GA4, Search Console, and rank tracking tools to provide the Account Directors with the stats they need for client meetings or strategic planning.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Respond to quick-turnaround data requests from the POD to support strategy pivots or answer specific client queries.
Training and Progression
- Actively participate in training sessions across all pillars (Strategy, Content, Tech, and PR). We want you to understand how the entire SEO machine works, not just your specific tasks.
- Career Development: Work with your Line Manager to build a Personal Development Plan (PDP) focused on the soft skills and strategic thinking required to become an Account Director.
Experience: in an SEO or Digital Marketing role, ideally within an agency environment.
Digital Marketing Competence: An understanding of SEO fundamentals (what it is, why it’s needed, how it’s done). You know your way around the channel, many of the tools and the principles of SEO.
Experience with the basics of Digital PR, including building media lists, writing pitch emails, and understanding what makes a story newsworthy.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Experience using standard Content Management Systems (WordPress, Shopify, etc) to upload content and make basic changes.
Technical SEO: An understanding of the impact of technical SEO on a website's performance and how it might be impacted by negative technical SEO.
