2D Motion Design Intern

Paid · Remote or Hybrid · Part-time / project-based

We’re a young but growing company about to launch our new brand — and we’re looking for a budding motion designer to join us for the ride. Whether you’ve just finished uni or you’re self-taught and looking for your first real-world experience, this is a chance to work on actual client projects and build your portfolio as we grow this exciting new part of the business.

You’ll be helping us create animations for explainer videos, social media, and branded content. Most of the time you’ll be working with 2D Illustrator assets we’ve already designed, bringing them to life in After Effects. Along the way, you’ll get feedback and guidance to help sharpen your skills and build confidence working on professional projects.

We’re not expecting perfection — just a good understanding of After Effects and Illustrator, a solid eye for motion and design, and the right attitude to learn and push yourself.

You’ll be doing things like:

• Prepping Illustrator files and helping keep projects organised
• Animating assets in After Effects
• Assisting with storyboards and rough drafts
• Taking feedback and making tweaks to bring projects over the line
• Learning about how projects run from start to finish

What we’d love to see:

• Some experience with After Effects and Illustrator — uni work, personal projects, or freelance bits are all good
• Resourcefulness and the ability to figure things out independently when needed – like most motion designers, you’ll know how to dig into tutorials, forums, and online resources to solve problems
• A keen eye for design and how things move
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take feedback on board
• Good communication and reliability with deadlines
• Bonus: if you’ve played around with Photoshop, Figma, Rive, or LottieFiles, even better
