As a Business Development Consultant (BDC) at OnTheMarket (OTM), you will manage, nurture, and grow an existing client base. You will partner with a dynamic, entrepreneurial sales team to sell, train, and retain clients across the full suite of OTM products. Your role includes sourcing new business, building relationships, and positioning OTM as the UK’s number 1 residential property portal.

Responsibilities
  • Develop business growth through sourcing, generating, and building new business for OTM.
  • Understand the OTM suite of products and how they best support our customers’ needs.
  • Identify new sales leads and contact potential clients.
  • Meet with new and existing clients in person.
  • Negotiate business terms with new and existing clients.
  • Work with senior team members to manage risks and communicate results.
  • Use excellent communication skills and product knowledge to pitch to new and prospective clients.
  • Represent OTM by hosting and attending industry events and networking with property professionals in your market.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of sales success, preferably in online marketplaces, portals, or similar B2B environments (other sales backgrounds considered).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow clients over the medium and long term, providing excellent service.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and objection‑handling skills; confidence and patience to make complex proposals.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to metrics effectively.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • A consultative selling style with account‑management techniques; love building relationships and helping clients problem‑solve.
  • Ability to navigate a large organisation—identify decision‑makers, influencers, blockers, and align them.
  • Current and valid driver’s licence.
  • Completion of a Driving Record/Driving Abstract check prior to start.
