About the QC Team: Our QC department is responsible for ensuring that all the content we deliver to cinemas, home entertainment and VOD platforms looks and sounds flawless and exactly as the director intended. Experienced QC professionals, our team of highly trained experts, use a combination of manual and automated QC processes, from a full watch‑through in controlled conditions to a software or spot check, to identify any issues. If a fault is found, they liaise with post houses and producers to fix the issue long before it hits the big screen.
About the role: This role has been identified as instrumental in driving optimal quality standards across the QC department. Reporting to the QC Supervisors you’ll be responsible for reviewing content from all our clients, generating log reports that can be sent directly to the client. This role will command strategic thinking and planning and provide expertise throughout the entire QC process with a strong sense of quality ownership with the ability to work hard on your own initiative whilst maintaining focus to meet deadlines with a can‑do approach.
Person specification: The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and be adept at managing multiple stakeholders during fast‑paced, high‑pressure projects. Underlying these skills will be an intrinsic drive for perfection and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have:
- Expert knowledge of QC workflows in the digital media supply chain industry with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Articulate and confident communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- A can‑do approach to all tasks set by clients, platforms and the company.
- A team player mentality and be personal, professional and calm.
- Experience with leading continuous improvement projects.
- Excellent working knowledge of file formats and specifications and the required workflows to process these in the most efficient way.
- Ability to work hard on own initiative whilst maintaining focus to meet deadlines.
- Prolific Adobe Premiere knowledge.
- Knowledge of Netflix, Amazon and other platform specifications.
Role and responsibilities: The immediate focus includes achieving quality targets set by the Clients, platforms, broadcaster and VDMS, ensuring the client’s work is delivered efficiently, on time and to a high standard. Be an expert for all QC workflows and technologies. Work closely with supervisors to implement procedures to effectively plan all work going through the area, giving the business a clear overview of utilisation. Help maintain client relationships and client retention alongside the account management and sales team.
Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Operational QC work for all clients.
- Represent and uphold all department policies and procedures and maintain an exceptional level of service within the Operational area.
- Maintain an awareness of Visual Data’s client’s core challenges and internal deadlines.
- Be able to address questions from clients and staff regarding technical specifications.
- Be aware of any specific client needs to ensure the work is completed to spec.
- Resolve deadline related issues and collaborate with operational departments and client services, towards a timely resolution.
- Identify areas in the department that would benefit from development and assist with the design and implementation of in‑house systems and tools.
- Help identify and recommend improvements in QC workflows and processes.
- Communicate any and all hardware faults or software issues to the HOD and Technical Support.
- Uphold and monitor Visual Data’s security measures and policies within your departments.
