Role Overview
As a
Draughtsperson/Estimator , you will play a pivotal role in transforming creative concepts into practical, executable designs.
Working closely with our design, production, and sales teams, you will produce technical drawings, cost estimates, and resource plans for bespoke installations and event designs.
Your technical expertise and attention to detail will ensure projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design : Develop detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and CAD designs for bespoke installations, props, and event set‑ups.
Estimations : Prepare accurate cost estimates, material lists, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with client budgets and project requirements.
Collaboration : Liaise with designers, project managers, and production teams to translate creative briefs into practical technical solutions.
Problem‑Solving : Anticipate potential challenges in designs and propose innovative solutions to ensure smooth project execution.
Material Research : Identify sustainable and cost‑effective materials, ensuring they meet project specifications and company values.
Client Interaction : Attend client meetings to gather requirements, present technical solutions, and provide insights into project feasibility.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and organized records of designs, estimates, and project specifications for internal and client use.
- What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Technical Designer, Estimator, or similar role within the events, bespoke design, or creative industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e. g., Auto CAD, Sketch Up or similar) and 3D modelling tools.
- Strong understanding of materials, production processes, and construction methods.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate estimations.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into feasible technical designs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and clients.
- A passion for creativity and innovation, with a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge on design, build and installations of temporary and demountable structures.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the events or entertainment industry.
