We have an exciting opportunity for a People Advisor to join our team within Vistry Services, at our Warrington Factory. As our People Advisor, you will support our Vistry Works division, which is the timber frame manufacturing arm of Vistry Group. Based at our Vistry Works Warrington factory, you will work closely with managers and a large number of deskless employees to provide day to day generalist HR support. This role has a real focus on employee relations, which involves guiding and coaching internal stakeholders to ensure matters are dealt with in an appropriate and professional manner.

You will also support with recruitment activities, people development initiatives and ensuring that our policies and procedures are updated and fit for purpose. This role sits as part of a UK-wide People team and will therefore involve participation in a number of wider projects and contribution to areas such as Employee Engagement and Diversity & Inclusion.   • CIPD level 3 or higher
  • A background in HR with experience of dealing with complex employee relations matters
  • Good working knowledge of employment law

More about the People Advisor role:

  • Support factory management teams with a range of employee relations activity, including disciplinary, grievance and formal performance review matters
  • Monitor the divisional People KPIs and work with the People Business Partner and key stakeholders to analyse data to improve productivity
  • Provide support to employees on the interpretation of policy and procedure, guidance around types of leave and any general advice as is necessary
  • Advise employees on the range of benefits available to them and signpost to appropriate support functions where necessary
  • Ensure that the factory handbook is kept updated and remains relevant to the needs of employees, and is distributed regularly
  • Support the People Business Partner with the ongoing development of a tailored communication plan for deskless employees to support inclusivity and engagement
  • Take a proactive approach to supporting management teams by providing sound HR advice, mainly focused on absence management, performance/conduct issues and interpretation of internal policies
  • Develop local inductions in conjunction with factory management teams and ensure all new starters understand relevant People team processes and procedures, and can access our employee self-service systems
  • Work with the People Business Partner on strategic and employee engagement initiatives, including ensuring the ongoing success and productive output of employee engagement groups
  • Work with the wider People team to ensure all People team policies are up to date and reflect current employment law
  • Support factory management teams with short and long term absence management cases, including Occupational Health referrals where necessary
  • Maintain employee e-files and ensure that People team activity is recorded in our case management system in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Support factory management teams with redundancy and consultation processes and the resulting letters where required
  • Support factory management teams with flexible working requests
  • Devise and conduct exit interviews, and work with the People Business Partner to create resulting action plans
  • Provide interview/assessment centre support where needed at the factories
  • Provide project support to the wider People team and positively contribute to the People Advisor community, sharing workload where required
  • Display a willingness to participate in continued professional development
