The predicted salary is between 36000 - 44000 Β£ per year.

As Assistant Site Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Site/Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from start to finish. You will assist in managing budgets, schedules, resources, and teams to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role involves liaising with partners, customers, contractors, and stakeholders, as well as handling risks, issues, and compliance. Knowledge and experience of volume timber frame unit delivery is preferable, as is the ability to support the Project Manager in a positive, safe, and methodical manner. Full competence with all aspects of safety relating to large timber frame sites, especially fire safety, is desirable.

The project is a greenfield site in Leicester consisting of 288 timber frame units, up to 2.5 stories. There is a mix of open market sale and pre-sold plots for our HA partner, with all timber frame kits supplied by our own in-house manufacturing facility, also located in Leicester.

Experience working on new build projects and in the management of health and safety is essential. You should have sequence and details relating to the timber frame build process, as well as conversation/presentational skills in the sense of a customer-facing role.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • NVQ Level 3, 4 or 5 in Building Construction or similar
  • Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
  • Valid LOLER certificate
  • Qualified to the required CIOB Grade applicable at the time in accordance with group policy
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Project, and Asta Team plan
  • Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Valid SMSTS Certificate
  • Valid CITB SEATS certificate

Assisting in the management of all aspects of the build process requires up-to-date knowledge of health and safety, environmental obligations, and building legislation.

Ensure compliance with construction methods, health and safety regulations, and company policies, supporting the site manager in corrective actions and risk management. Coordinate with utility companies, trades, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials and services. Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety practices, accident reporting, and environmental policies. Oversee and maintain quality control, including inspections, snagging, and ensuring quality standards for trades and materials.
