We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Manager, Indirect Tax Compliance, reporting to the Senior Manager Indirect Tax Compliance. This role is based in the UK, offers remote working and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant contribution to our Corporate business and its growth.

Purpose of Role

To manage a portfolio of clients, having overall responsibility for timely & accurate submission of VAT returns. It sits within a UK based team of 5 with a high degree of working with the Vistra team based in the Global Service Centres.

Key Responsibilities

  • The role is predominantly an indirect tax compliance role with a strong emphasis on the timely and accurate delivery of indirect tax returns for clients in a number of Countries. This includes having overall responsibility for an allocation of clients across several countries.
  • To execute the delivery of indirect tax compliance services in accordance with company processes including the operation of systems and databases used to track and record compliance events.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to effectively deliver accurate and timely Indirect Tax compliance services for Vistra’s clients.
  • Assist in the development of the Indirect Tax compliance offering, including, but not limited to, supporting the team (including colleagues based in other locations) to ensure quality and risk are properly maintained and managed.
  • Act as first point of contact for a number of specified key client accounts, in relation to Indirect Taxes, in order to support the rest of the business in delivering world class services to Vistra’s clients.
  • Handle audits and enquiries as well as registrations and other items which require direct contact with the local tax authority.

Attributes & Technical Skills

  • A strong working knowledge of the full range of Indirect Tax matters that impact clients which are expanding internationally.
  • The ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of current Indirect Tax issues and how such issues apply to clients in the context of their business.
  • Knowledge and experience of cross-border transactions.
  • The ability to critically review financial records and supporting documents in order to verify the accuracy of indirect tax related transaction postings.
  • The ability to identify risks and opportunities during compliance review processes.
  • An ability to effectively prioritise tasks in order to meet the needs of the client and the needs of the business whilst maintaining an attention to detail and a flexible approach.
  • Knowledge of ERP and finance systems would be beneficial as well as some basic accounting knowledge.
  • The ability to liaise with tax authorities directly and indirectly in order to affect efficient and positive outcomes for Vistra’s clients.
  • A flexible and dynamic approach to operating effectively within a fast paced client service environment.

Relevant Experience

Minimum of 3 year’s experience in a similar role.

Education And Professional Qualifications

Relevant professional qualification desirable. GCSE's in Maths and English.
