Job Description:
Our Team:
Vista is the go-to partner for millions of small businesses who need to promote themselves effectively in the modern age.
With tools that empower brands to create their unique identity and expert design support when they need inspiration, we provide a range of digital and print services at every stage of their journey.
To help customers bring their visions to life, we need UX professionals skilled at crafting the right features and experiences – that’s where you come in.
What you\’ll do:
We’re looking for an accomplished Principal UX Designer to lead the vision for one of our most strategically important product areas: The account and workspace experience, where our users engage daily to manage their projects, favorites, assets, and personal settings. We\’re only considering candidates from the UK for this role.
As the Principal UX Designer in the My Account team, you’ll craft the strategy and execution for a suite of connected experiences which include:
- Dashboard: Surfacing quick actions and account management with ease.
- Projects: Seamlessly organizing and managing complex customer projects.
- Uploads: Enabling users to manage and interact with their content.
- Account & Settings: Providing flexible control over preferences, profiles, and security.
- Favorites: Delivering access to high-value products and templates.
This is a high-impact, strategic role where you’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, research, and business leaders to tackle complex design challenges at the intersection of personalization, customer content management, and customer project workflows. You’ll apply systems thinking, information architecture expertise, and scalable design patterns to transform complex dashboards into intuitive, seamless, and engaging experiences. Driven by data-informed insights that deliver meaningful outcomes for both customers and the business.
As a Principal UX Designer, you will influence design standards across the organization, and help shape how design is practiced at scale. If you are passionate about leading design for high-impact, customer-facing platforms, where every detail shapes the daily experience of thousands of users, we’d love to meet you.
Conceptualize and explore visionary new product design solutions that evolve and differentiate the experience for our customers.
Shape ambiguous ideas into concrete user stories and innovative product experiences, utilizing a user-centered design process; be hands-on at every stage of the design process.
Partner with peers across product, engineering, and research to drive cross-functional alignment, push creativity and innovation, and challenge established thinking.
Contribute thought leadership and design execution toward a long-term experience strategy and vision.
Plan and execute on user research learning agendas using data and consumer insights; leverage research findings as inspiration for and validation of new product concepts.
Foster a strong, user-centered design practice by evangelizing UX + design, building a thriving design culture, mentoring others, and sharing your design expertise.
Partner with product and engineering leaders to evolve cross-functional processes that streamline discovery, planning, and delivery, ensuring design is effectively integrated into iterative development cycles.
Lead process improvements that standardize how design work is scoped, reviewed, documented, and delivered across multiple teams, driving adoption of scalable best practices that support organizational growth.
Apply system-level thinking to design decisions, balancing user experience with technical constraints, scalability, system performance, and long-term maintainability.
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to evaluate technical trade-offs, proactively shaping design solutions that align with platform architecture, minimize technical debt, and scale effectively across complex ecosystems.
Champion inclusive design by integrating accessibility best practices into design systems, ensuring all experiences meet or exceed accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher), and driving cross-functional accessibility awareness.
Your Qualifications:
At Vista, we are striving to hire individuals that add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture. No matter your background or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply – even if you feel that you don’t meet the exact requirements or have the same qualifications. You might be a great candidate for this or other opportunities.
10+ years experience designing innovative digital products, within large-scale product and service ecosystems
5+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teams
5+ years directing and mentoring more junior designers, and guiding multi-disciplinary collaborators through a successful user-centered process.
Case study demonstrating the successful launch of account workspaces or similar dashboard and profile management which delivered measurable outcomes for the customer and the business.
Ability to drive and contribute to product Discovery and Delivery on an iterative and ongoing basis, and coach other team members through the process.
Experience leveraging quantitative and/or qualitative data to inspire design concepts, prioritize features, validate new product designs and communicate decisions to stakeholders.
Ability to build strong cross functional relationships with design, technical and business partners; experience managing executive stakeholders.
Presentation skills and the ability to articulate sophisticated concepts to cross functional audiences in person, remotely, real time, and/or asynchronously.
Strong information architecture and workspace/dashboard and design fundamentals including visual and typographic craft.
Nice to have:
Relevant degree in field of Design or HCI.
Experience working with globally distributed teams, and/or in highly matrixed organizations.
Ability to plan, moderate, and execute a variety of goal-oriented workshops across stakeholders, leading to exciting new ideas, new-found consensus, and critical alignment.
Experience identifying and prioritizing features, as well as participating in complex roadmap planning.
Experience using code to create fully or partially functional prototypes, to be used in user research and/or internal socializing of design concepts.
