Your Responsibilities:
- Oversees all Structural maintenance, mechanical repair, and modification required during Base maintenance activities.
- Leads and mentors the sheet metal team, and directs any allocated staff (permanent and contract).
- Liaises with OEMs as appropriate to agree technical solutions, mechanical part queries, and submission of technical requests for support.
- Liaise with 3rd party contract companies including but not limited to Part 21 and working groups in conjunction with aircraft input.
- Be a focal point for Technical Support for allocated aircraft in work including repairs, modifications, queries, tooling and specialist information.
- Control and monitor any in-house fabrication activities.
- Assist with technical aspects of quotations as required and directed.
- Be a key stakeholder in the Pre-Input process and organise meetings as required with relevant stakeholders.
- Key stakeholder of the Daily Status Meetings in conjunction with the Customer Support Manager, Aircraft Manager, and Planning Team.
- Create Project Plans for maintenance inputs which identify key sequences, milestones and critical path tasks.
- Ensure that project timelines are updated to accurately reflect progress and skill type forecasts for each input.
- Ensure all Maintenance Data/Spares/Tooling requirements are identified and pre-loaded/ordered.
- Ensure accurate manhour targets are updated to reflect changes in performance/working practices.
- Ensure all complex tasks have appropriately staged Job-Cards.
- Continually review systems and procedures to improve aircraft downtimes.
- Occasional out of normal work hours support may be required.
- Carry out any other reasonable task which may be directed, from time to time by Management.
Required Skills, Qualifications, And Experience:
- 3 years of proven aircraft SMW experience in liaising with OEM/Part 21, finalising repairs, and Bombardier products.
- In-depth understanding of engineering drawings/data and its application.
- Experience in Planning / Pre-engineering.
- Read & write in Fluent Technical English.
- Human Factors current.
- Full UK driving license.
- Have the right to work in the UK without restriction.
- Willingness to travel and flexibility with working hours.
- Hold a Degree in Engineering or related discipline, would be desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Base maintenance operations.
- Current EWIS and FTS would be desirable.
