We are recruiting for a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineer to join our team in Farnborough.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out all aspects of NDT testing across fleet or aircraft to include Eddy Current, MPI, Ultrasonic and penetrant inspection.
  • Ensuring that the NDT Department complies with the relevant NDT requirements (including but not limited to .30 (e) and EN4179) and the Company’s policies, values, philosophy and procedures.
  • Developing and approving NDT-related topics within the MOE within the bounds of their authority as the NDT L3,
  • The supervision of the NDT Technicians including: Conducting competency assessments and maintaining their independently certified Level-3 Approval
  • Holding Technical Responsibility for the NDT facility and the NDT Department’s staff.
  • Preparing, maintaining, reviewing and verifying the adequacy of the Written Practice against which the NDT Department is certified to ensure that any changes in the regulations, applicable standards and the Company are reflected.
  • Approving the Organisation’s written practice for the training and qualification of NDT personnel in accordance with EN4179.
  • Overseeing the selection of the methods and techniques for a specific inspection.
  • Ensuring that regular system and product technical audits are conducted by appropriately qualified personnel every 12 months to ensure the continued compliance and standards of NDT work carried out by the Company.
  • Ensuring that any outside agency used for training and examination purposes is approved appropriately.
  • The timely, cost effective and appropriate closure of any audit findings resulting from Safety, Health and Safety and/or Compliance Monitoring required by .200(a)(6) or by any other relevant regulations that relate to their area of responsibility
  • Any other reasonable requests by Hangar Management in line with the NDT Engineer role.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Valid PCN or EN 4179/NAS 410 certification in a minimum of Eddy Currents and Ultrasonic.
  • Level 2 certification and approved on ET, UT, PT and MT.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ NDT experience in the aerospace or aviation industry
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
  • Ability to conduct control checks and compile technical reports.
  • Experience of working to EASA Part 145 requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to undertake physical elements of role . working at height to carry out on-wing aircraft inspection.

Desirable:

  • BEng or HND/HNC in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Level 3 NDT qualification
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in line with business NDT requirements.
